As good as new

These little foot-stools came from my parents old farm house. Run down and derelict, some new fabric brought them back to life.

A few simple tools including tacks, hammer and a staple gun... and some good quality seconds fabric...

A layer of hessian cloth adds another layer of protection between the old padding and the new fabric.

et voila!

Revamped in Red

This was another bargain transformed. Costing only $10 from a second hand shop, I converted this piece with a tin of paint into a stunning bright piece showcasing its stylish original design.

Up-cycling, the new-ish way to revamp old things..

Recycled Couch

My new found passion, up-cycling second hand goods...this was my first project. It started out like this. A $40 couch from a second hand store that had seen better days.

Choosing the right fabric was actually the hardest part...turns out there is not a lot of variety in Christchurch, New Zealand...and what there is, is way over-priced. Trusty old Spotlight had a 30% off sale so I got myself some of this red upholstery fabric. Thought it would add the right retro tone as well as brighten up any room. And it worked!

After quite a lot of plotting, and ripping, and pulling, and cutting, and sewing, and hammering, and blistered fingers....

.....this was the masterpiece result. I am extremely pleased with it.
